The main hard drive on my computer crashed tonight. (I'm posting from Chris's computer.) Hot Help Desk dude (Chris) couldn't resuscitate it. He tried to no avail. It's dead. Luckily, my pictures were on another drive, however, I hadn't backed up my iTunes in a bit. I'm sure I lost a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't remember too. Crap. We are only on day 9 of 2009 and I'm about ready give up on this optimistic business. I had much better luck when I was convinced that the sky was falling and was all doom and gloomy.
Oh, and in a sick twist of fate, we got a call today from the realtor that someone wants to come see our house this weekend. HA, HA, HA! We hadn't actually gotten around to calling the real estate agent yet to tell him to take it off the market. So, now we have to clean the damn house. Bah. Just watch... We will totally get an offer.
Just a suggestion, get carbonite. It is $50 a year and it backs up everything up to a site online. I bought some music and accidently deleted a few songs and went right to the site and downloaded them again. I know that this doesn't help now but it can in the future. Sorry about your computer:(

you are having a shitty January! At least there are 11 other months that can totally be in your favor!

I am tempted to join you in having a pessimistic view of 2009. So far we have paid for braces ($3400), loaned one son $1000 to cover his college tuition, had to buy a new water heater ($700), had to get wheel bearings replaced on one car ($400+), had one computer processor not start just after we spent $200 to get a new and better monitor for that computer (but we think we only need to replace the power supply ($35, I hope), and next Friday we need to pay for our daughter to get her wisdom teeth out ($500+). We are not rolling in dough over here, with 5 kids and one income, so you can see why I could be getting pretty depressed. However, I am going to hold out and have faith that things are merely in a craphole temporarily and will be going in the other direction soon!
